CQ WPX RTTY Contest 2011 took place 12.02.2011 00:00UTC - 13.02.2011 23:59UTC
Last weekend I worked in CQ WPX RTTY contest. Totally I made 241 QSOs. Band were: 10M, 15M, 20M, 40M. In my activity I got:
- DX - YB0, LU, VR2, VK3, BH, D44, ST2, JA, EA8
- EUROPE - UA/R, OK, HA, LY, G/GW/GM, SM/LN, SV/SV9, IT/IT9/IS0, F, EA, Z37, and so....
- COULD NOT MAKE - CE3/VE7SV, S9DX, 9M2, N/K, PY.
I didn't hear anybody on 10m band when I called CQ on 28,082 MHz instead of TJ9PF worked on this QRG. I moved to 28,086 MHz. There I made 3-4 QSOs. Time to time I jumped on to 10m and called CQ to make local QSOs in RTTY contest. Actually, I worked on 15m, 20m, 40m. I tried to call one station on 80m using 10Watts but it was unfortunately.
About S9DX:
At that time I spoke by cell-phone to Vit, RX0AT. We moved to 21,121 MHz (do not remember now HI) and I heard S9DX but signal was very weak at my end. Vit said: I hear it strongly, listen.. I heard the signal from the phone, it was strong but on my screen it was weak. S9DX worked with SPLIT 10kHz, so I was needed to transmitt my signal on 21,131 MHz. My TRX has 2 receivers but I have no second antenna to work with this big shift. Maximun CLAR I have is 9,99 kHz. I missed the S9DX in the test and back to continue work in contest with other stations on the bands. Evening of 15.02.2011. I was called by Valeriy RX3DU by phone who helped me to fix the SPLIT issue in my FT-1000. He gave me good explanation. According that I can make any SPLIT as I want. MNI TNX for him.
About 21 MHz and 14 MHz: It was great propagation to DX-sites. I made YB0, D44, ST2, LU there. But I heard a couple of stations from PY, some tries - no result to set a contact. D44AC and ST2AR had strongly signals as local stations. At first day D44AC has big pile up, and I decided to "take him" on second day - and I was right - made it. Also I turned the QRG on 15M and see CQ from LS1N. WOW.. Argentina calling CQ. I called - Yep, I made it. :) The same situation was with VK3TDX. I was a lucky man at the second day of contest. I turned down QRG to 20M and see what is interesting on the band. Just hear YB1AR calling (no takers). One call - one answer. I made it. There were also mane stations from EU on the band. I made QSOs with all stations whom I see on my screen.

Statistics: 40M band - 54 QSO 20M band - 105 QSO 15M band - 79 QSO 10M band - 3 QSO
I never worked DIGI contests as this one before. It was 1st experience to work in DIGI contest and CQ call on it. Now, I have worked and liked it much. I didn't work to a such result, but had much much fun of contest. It is a HAM SPIRIT!! Yes, it does.
My setup: - TX/RX: Yaesu Ft-1000MP MARK-V Field - ANT: Inverted V 10m, 20m, 40m bands - PWR: 80-100 Watts - SOFT: UR5EQF Log v.3.29-5
- HARDWARE: Notebook ASUS Pro58V
- INTERFACE: RigExpert Standard
Yesterday I did check the log to see its correction for numbers. I did see that some (7 or 8) numbers were missed. It seems it was a software or clipboard missing error or something like that. I did set the value 001 for all received and missed numbers. It was my first experience to work in DIGI contest in UR5EQF Log (contest digi module) and copy-past actions seems missing the received numbers from the stations. Yesterday I chatted with Oleg RK3AW on iCQ. He said that in FT-1000 there are 2 VFOs - A and B. I did check this option too but I have ANT-A and ANT-B because my TRX has 2 receivers, and I can't do big frequency shift instead of using CLAR unit. I have no second antenna for second receiver and that's why I missed S9DX.
The shack is:
Will watch to everybody in CQ WPX RTTY 2012 Contest.
